All political party leaders will meet with Agong tomorrow | Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR, August 16 – Leaders of major Malaysian parties have reportedly been summoned to Istana Negara for an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong tomorrow.
According to an opposition source, the hearing will be devoted to the question of who should be the next prime minister after the resignation of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today.
The source also said that the leaders of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) parties were called, but could not verify whether other non-coalition opposition parties were also called by the Palace.
Another opposition source also confirmed that the hearing would be tomorrow, but did not reveal more details.
Other news outlets have also reported that the hearing will involve all of the country’s main political parties, not just the opposition.
Reports put the public at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
After the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan administration last year, the Agong also met with party leaders before appointing Muhyiddin as prime minister.
