Major political change in the country underway: ANP – Journal

MARDAN: The acting chairman of the opposition Awami National Party, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, said on Friday that the country was on the verge of a major political change.

Addressing National Awami Party workers at a public meeting here, Mr Hoti criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan for poor economic and political measures.

“The inexperienced player [PM Imran Khan] ruined the country financially, politically and socially,” he said.

The ANP leader said the prime minister was afraid of the opposition’s anti-government campaign and asked his allies not to abandon him.

He said that the flawed policies of the PTI government formulated under the dictation of the International Monetary Fund had caused unprecedented inflation in the misery of the people.

Mr. Hoti said that free, fair and transparent elections should be held immediately in the country for the election of the government.

On this occasion, Akbar Hoti as well as the members of his family and his friends announced their adhesion to the ANP.

“PTI members collect CNICs from voters promising them financial aid and development projects in exchange for electoral support,” the lawmaker told reporters on Friday.

Mr Faisal said the PTI had planned a pre-election rigging with the district administration helping its candidates.

Meanwhile, the PTI on Friday announced its support for the PML-N candidates in the Shangla local elections.

Former PTI District Chairman Rahimzada Yousafzai and General Secretary Shamsher Ali Khan made the announcement at a ceremony in Bisham region, where MP Ibadullah Khan was present.
