Naga Policy Issue: NPCC Says Prime Minister Has Responsibility to Answer the People | MorungExpress

Dimapur, August 20 (MExN): Nagaland Pradesh’s congressional committee said on Saturday that seven years have passed since India’s prime minister announced that the Naga political issue was resolved, and “it is now the responsibility of the prime minister to respond to the people and not the responsibility of others. ”

Demanding honesty from the prime minister, the NPCC said the people take the statements of the prime minister and chief minister of Nagaland seriously, expecting deliverance every time. In the most positive approach to their assurances of a solution they facilitated, Congress also declared its support for both formal agreements, it said in a press release.

According to the NPCC, people have been brainwashed “time and time again” with the BJP’s “election for a solution” slogan promising a quick settlement. “This time too, the same sound resonates after the parliamentary committee resolution of July 16, 2022 was abandoned and the seat sharing agreement was announced on July 26, 2022,” he said.

“How many more lies will they be complicit in? They are all part of the central government ruling party and without their recommendation; the election commission will never advance the election,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the state continues to suffer from poor governance and corruption, pointing to the condition of roads, erratic electricity supply and late payment of salaries to state government employees. .

Stating that the youths are suffering without jobs, he added: “Self-employment cannot be sustained because of extortion… Unions backed by unscrupulous elements control business activities, thus stifling sincere naga youth who are struggling to establish themselves in business. Everything in Dimapur has unions sucking the blood of innocent Nagas.

The NPCC went on to say that “people know how congressmen were lured and brought into joining the NPF in the previous Assembly.” He also accused the NDPP and BJP of buying votes during the elections and looting the state treasury without any development activity. .

Among other things, he also said that the BJP and the NDPP are “trying to defend the crimes and corruption perpetrated against the people by raking in a non-issue which the CM itself clarified by giving a Clean Chit.” Without going into details, the statement said, “If there is any fault in the mentioned 365 Cr, provide evidence or apologize, otherwise you will face a defamation case.”

He further said it was “disturbing and alarming” that the government of BJP Nagaland and UDA did not condemn the draft constitution of “Hindu Rashtra” which declares India as a Hindu nation under which Christians and Muslims will not have the right to vote. “Nor did they condemn the release of rapists convicted just days ago. They have already become catalysts in the dilution of Nagas ethnic values, identity and faith,” he said.

Furthermore, the NPCC said the UDA would do well to stand up to the occasion and stand up for the interests of the people it represents, instead of pointing fingers.
