KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said the popular regime in the country was established following the massive political changes due to the sacrifice and dedication of the martyrs for the development and transformation of the country, leaving aside their interests personal.

In a message given today on the Martyrs’ Day, Prime Minister Deuba said that the various political changes from 2007BS to 2062/63 BS remained successful for the establishment of democracy in the country because of the devotion, dedication and sacrifices of the martyrs.

In his message, Prime Minister Deuba also expressed his sincere condolences to all known and unknown martyrs for sacrificing their invaluable lives for the cause of democracy and the democratic system in the country.

Prime Minister Deuba wished a speedy recovery to those injured in their struggles for democracy.

“The independence and self-respect we enjoy today, and the access of citizens to all levels and structures of the state is established and the advancement of the country towards any form of governance today’ today is made possible thanks to the contribution of the martyrs”, according to the PM.

Deuba recalled the contributions of great martyrs Dasharath Chand, Shukra Raj Shashtri, Dharma Bhakta Mathema and Ganga Lal Shrestha and all the martyrs who lost their lives in different movements.

The Prime Minister wished Martyrs’ Day to inspire all to materialize a dream of beautiful Nepal dreamed up by the martyrs and follow the path of truth, justice and equality shown by the martyrs.
